For Cabresto Lake Campground: Beautiful Area. The hike to heart lake is not for the faint of heart (no pun intended.) 4 miles is a long way when it is uphill 99 percent of the way at that altitude. Took me and my 12 year old son almost 4 hours just to make it up to Heart lake. Give yourself plenty of time and take plenty of water. Cabresto Lake campground would really be pretty nice if it were not like the parking lot at Wal Mart most of the time during the day. Noisy from ATV traffice and just lots of people coming and going all day. Very few if any nice flat camp spots that do not have lots of rocks. Beautiful place but next time we will plan to hike up to heart lake and camp there instead to avoid the noise and crowd.
