For Fred Henne Territorial Park: This park is beautiful. Very clean and unique. The sites are built around the Canadian Shield and vary in size. Most sites are very private. It has a beautiful beach area, ideal if you have children. The only downside is that it's next to the highway and lots of road noise.

For Fred Henne Territorial Park: We were looking for a CG that would be convenient to the Folk on the Rocks music festival grounds on Long Lake and downtown Yellowknife. We're self-contained and don't use the facilities except for an occasional shower. We stayed a week in late July in our 8 metre (25 foot) MH. This is a very nice large CG located 2 km (1.5 mi) from the music festival and 4.5 km (3 mi) from downtown Yellowknife. It is clean and well maintained. The staff are helpful and friendly. There are over 100 sites in 4 main loops. The sites vary significantly in size and shape - some are quite long, some are wide and round, some have elevated tent platforms, some are tucked in between rocks (Canadian shield), some connect to others with common areas, some are surrounded by trees while others are open and others are near the beach. Loop D is relatively new with larger sites that are more open with smaller trees. Most are level gravel. There's a mix of electric only and unserviced sites. We were in site 21 on a road connecting loop A and C. It was long, level and shaded. The push button showers were clean with ample hot water and pressure. There's a dump station and potable water near the entrance. We made reservations for the music festival weekend anticipating the CG would be full. (It was.) There were several sites to choose from to extend our stay during the week. There was good ATT cell coverage while roaming on Bell and good Verizon coverage while roaming on Telus. The CG is located across Highway 3 from the Yellowknife airport. There is airport/road noise during the day. We heard airport noise only 1 night during the week. The Folk on the Rocks music festival in mid-July is great and alone worth the drive. The city of Yellowknife is fun with all services available - grocery, camp supplies, restaurants, etc. The Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre is a nice museum focused on the culture and history of the area. Highways 1 and 3 to Yellowknife are paved. The CG has a beach, playground and hiking trails.
