For Sportsmans Beach Walker Lake Recreation Area: Wonderful place for an overnight. Very quiet (not bothersome light traffic). Great boat launch area, lots of space all around. $6.00 for developed (ones with fire pits, tables, shade) campsite (50% discount with access pass, e.g., America the Beautiful) and $4.00 - I think it was faded and hard to read - for non-developed sites. And as with all BLM places, 14 days max camping. 2-3 bars Verizon, worked fine but sometimes a bit slow. Very nice, enjoy your time.

For Sportsmans Beach Walker Lake Recreation Area: BLM campground on the shore of Walker Lake. Nice views of the lake and mountains. Price was right as we paid $3 with a Senior Pass. Covered picnic tables, but no other shade trees. Good for an overnight stay.

For Sportsmans Beach Walker Lake Recreation Area: Pulled in, hoping to stay here. Wow is it a barren place! The lake has receded a lot. The entire place is gravel, sand and white rocks. Bathrooms closed. High winds. No shade trees. We moved on.

For Sportsmans Beach Walker Lake Recreation Area: These widely spaced sites overlooking the lake are quite nice, Too bad no hookups, but otherwise these are wonderful sites. Stars at night.

For Sportsmans Beach Walker Lake Recreation Area: What a find! This campground is huge, with many spots on top that can be seen immediately, but if you continue to follow the camping signs going past the boat ramp the sites are lovely and more private.

For Sportsmans Beach Walker Lake Recreation Area: This is a great place for overnight or a couple nights. The lake is beautiful but sad that so much water has been lost. There are 4 places along the lake where you can stay this one was pay by envelope, $6 and well worth it. Nice and quiet even though you are along a busy road.

For Sportsmans Beach Walker Lake Recreation Area: Gorgeous spot on Walker Lake. We were planning to stay at an RV park in Hawthorne but drove down to check out Sportsman's Beach first and decided to stay here. Cold and windy at sunset, but amazing views, a restful sleep, and no sign yet of the spider invasion that apparently happens here every late spring/early summer.
