For Poverty Flats: Stayed at Snowbird Mesa, also known as Poverty Flats, 4 nights while taking in nearby Valley of Fire State Park. This free boondocking area is conveniently located between Valley of Fire State Park and Overton, Nevada on Route 169 and can accommodate numerous big rigs. The boondocking location at Snowbird Mesa we selected is located at grid coordinates 36.4813552, -114.4510921 and the entrance point from Route 169 is at grid coordinates 36.4817952, -114.4542310. There are several entrances that lead to different fingers of this U.S. Bureau of Reclamation free camping area, hence the above coordinates. Mountain views and scenic canyons surrounded our campsite. Verizon cellular service clocked in at 27.7 Mbps download speed and 8.77 Mbps upload speed. AT&T cellular service was 5G and clocked in at 61.2 Mbps download speed and 9.93 Mbps upload speed. We thoroughly enjoyed free camping and boondocking at Snowbird Mesa/Poverty Flats.

For Poverty Flats: We are here currently 10/10/17. Left valley of fire state park atlatl campground with water&electric. Lots of open flat space and about 10 other rigs here currently. No shade and can get windy in this area. Very easy on and off the paved road. The biggest Class A's could easily fit. Recommend this stopover when in the area. Avoid sand mine road and just stay here.

For Poverty Flats: Free BLM boon docking, everyone dispersed nicely and quiet. Pretty views for many miles. Hard sharp gravel like ground. If tenting need protecting ground tarp and good sleeping pad. Not sure about security if leaving rig. In sight of light traffic scenic highway. State park next door very nice.
