For Grass Point State Park: 1A (no hookups) is not on the map because it’s FCFS only. All spots are close to the lake, some are next to the lake. This site only has one other site next to it. We lucked out nabbing this spot on a weekend. The place was full but really quiet. Some sites have power but there are potable water spigots throughout. The bathhouses were really clean. Even though there’s a $5 fee for non-NY residents, it’s definitely worth the price. Because it’s a DEC state campground as opposed to a regular state campground, walkup reservations are allowed. Otherwise, you have to book online with a $7.50 reservation fee plus the out-of-state $5 fee which jacks the price up.

For Grass Point State Park: Beautiful, very well maintained park with very friendly staff. Site 56 right on the St Lawrence with views of passing ships. No utilities but allowed to use generator certain hours. Did not use bathhouse. Would definitely return. 5 stars!!!

For Grass Point State Park: We were looking for a campground that would be near the St. Lawrence River, convenient to Alex Bay and Clayton and enable us to get around the area by bicycle. We're self-contained and don't use the comfort stations. We stayed over a weekend in the off-season.

This is a great campground and exceeded our expectations. Nearly all sites are relatively large, have river views, and most have shade. Everything we wanted to visit was within 6 miles, easily accessible by bicycle. There's a decent restaurant/bar walking distance from the campground.

The campground has a limited number of sites with electric. Most are primitive. Were were advised to reserve early if we want electric. The dump station could win awards for best landscaping...
