For Nickerson Park Campground: Stayed here the first week of June 2020 just after NY started opening up campgrounds as a result of COVID-19. Overall a pretty nice campground but it has way too many seasonal campers than what I would like but I realize that’s just a pet peeve of mine. Most of the sites I saw, and the one I had, were nothing short of huge. In fact, I’ve never had such a large, grassy site, ever! The campground is located right on the Schoharie creek that has a really great swimming hole that was quite popular. The campground is very clean and well maintained with a number of large, grassy, open areas. There’s only one bath house but there are a number of ‘outhouses’ located throughout the campground. The staff is very nice and friendly. Okay, one more pet peeve I have is dog owners that Don’t control their dogs. Before I go further, I have two dogs that go with me everywhere and they are well behaved and Don’t go batcrazy every time another dog or person walks by our campsite. In fact, they could care less and are not even bothered. Well, there was one campsite here where the dog was left outside, unattended and boy did that dog bark. It started barking well before I even got close to the campsite and it continued barking, growling and carrying on long after I passed. If I stayed anywhere near this particular campsite I would have complained to the campground.....it was so rude and disrespectful of other campers for the owners of this dog to let it just go wild. After all this, I would go back to this campground as it was a really nice place overall.
