For Burns Run East: We were on site 9 gravel directly on the water.
The bad. Cigarette butts everywhere. Are they like trophies or pictures that smokers want to relive? I almost dislike downgrading to 4 stars because of it since it is previous customers.
Lots of geese, means lots of geese poop. I didn't downgrade my review because the geese don't know better.
Easy access from and to the highway. Close Valero gas station and easy check in made it a great one nighter heading north from Dallas.
Things to be aware of with waterfront spots. There were a dozen people drinking and listening to music in the water. If that upsets you, you might wish to take a site away from the water.

For Burns Run East: There are two sections of the park. The one that was closed when I was there in October has cement pads with hookups. Very nice. The one that was open has gravel sites with water and electricity. The price was right, but the campground needs some maintenance. the dump station was clogged. I did not have to dump because I was there one night. I do not know what the people did that were staying there longer.

For Burns Run East: A beautiful and small campground. Some sections have full hookups with very large and very level pads. Covered picnic tables. This is one of our favorite COE parks.

For Burns Run East: Beautiful location with many sites right on the water.
Not very clean. Site fire pit was overfilled with ash and partially burnt wood - plus broken bottles and a lot of cigarette butts. Spent time walking around picking up trash around the park.
Restrooms could use upgrading. Showers could use new shower heads and some hot water.
A small amount of maintenance would make this an incredible place - but you can't rely on location alone.
