For Sutton Campground: July 2021: The entire campground is more suited to tent/car campers than to trailers or motor homes. There's a mix of site sizes, most fairly private due to thick surrounding vegetation. Most sites are under thick tree cover, so very shaded for at least most of the day. Most sites have a fairly narrow, short paved area to park, although there are also scattered sites with longer parking space. Freshwater faucets are scattered throughout the campground. One or two of the faucets in each site loop have hose threads on the outlet, so could be used to fill an RV freshwater tank (but the RV would be blocking the loop road at most of these faucets). There are several restroom buildings, but no showers. There is no RV dump station. Cell service is spotty for Verizon, and non-existent for AT&T.
The campground's "A" loop sites are available by "reservation only". Unreserved sites can sometimes be had for a night or two on a daily "first come first served" basis, but usually ONLY IN THE WINTER when overall demand is lower than most of the year. About half of the "A" loop sites have electric service. The outlets are 30-Amp ONLY, there is no additional 15-Amp outlet in the outlet box. If you're a car, tent or van camper thinking to get an electric site so you can plug in your phone charger or notebook computer (for example), you'll need a 30Amp/15Amp converter plug.
The "B" loop sites are all "first come first served" ONLY, year-round. There is stiff competition for these sites 3 seasons of the year, daily, especially on summer weekends, beginning around 9AM and lasting until dusk. This creates a light but constant flow of traffic through "B" loop. Some of the sites in "B" loop have electric service, just as in "A" loop (a single 30-Amp outlet only).
The "C" loop is closed and gated off except during summer. There's a large warning sign on the road leading to "C" loop: "RV AND TRAILERS NOT RECOMMENDED". Just before the road enters "C" loop, there is a second prominent warning sign with the same message. The sites in "C" Loop are along a small, narrow, tightly looped road; difficult for a long vehicle, or for a vehicle towing other than a very small trailer (like a little teardrop, for example). Most sites in "C" loop also have quite short vehicle parking spots; most are not much longer than a car. The loop is best used by car/tent campers, or short Class B van conversion RV's. Cars towing tiny trailers like a teardrop-style, or possibly a little bigger, will fit in a few sites, as might a very short Class C motor home without any slide-outs. But, the access loop road itself is so narrow that turning enough to back into the angled site parking spots is apparently hard to do with anything much longer than a passenger car (judging by watching many longer rigs that try it and give up in frustration).
The entire "D" loop is accessible only during the summer, and rented only for a single set fee as one large group area having multiple sites. There are very infrequent exceptions on a day-to-day "first come first served" basis for individual sites, but only when/if the entire "D" loop has not been reserved for a day or two. The sites in "D" loop are generally similar to those in the "B" loop, except no sites in "D" loop have electric service.
