For Mont Albert - Gaspesie Provincial Park: This is the campground to stay at if you are planning to climb Mont Jacques Cartier. This is the second highest peak in eastern Canada. Experience alpine tundra while hiking to the summit to see reindeer, moose, and other wildlife.
This campground exits only to serve the clients hiking to the peak of Mont Jacques Cartier. While I is a pleasant campground there is very little else to do at this campground. The comfort station is clean with hot water and toilets. The International Appalachian Trail runs through here.
The park ranger at the campground is fluently bilingual and very friendly and helpful. Dress properly for the hike with stiff hiking boots as the trail consists solely of rock. The hike is challenging and the summit is quite cold. My children (11 and 7) loved the hike.
