For North Shore Beach: Yes, the sites are free abd some of the sites have great views. However, the facility is not maintained, lots of broken glass. Seems this is a place for the partying crowd. We did not stay but originally had planned to because of a previous review. Could be a nice dry camp area. Operative word is could.

For North Shore Beach: We did not stay at this CG...we were at Left Trailrace...but drove through and wow oh wow the views at this CG are not to be believed. There are many waterfront sites but all are primitive. If you like to boondock this would be a dream CG. When we drove through (Sept 8) there were only two campers in residence...they kinda had the whole place to themselves. We pull a 30' TT and would have had zero problems finding a site.

For North Shore Beach: The North Face campground is free and does accept RV's. My 36' class A towing a car is no problem. In fact they have standard paved sites. There are no hookups and to dump or get water you need to goto the dump station at the paid left trail face campground. The view of the lake is surpurb and I have Verizon 4g data!
I think this may be why you only have the spot marked as "tents" and not RV's. There is a sign that says "North Shore Recreation Area" and directly to the left is a dirt road.. If you are camping with a vehicle, DO NOT TAKE THAT ROAD.. Go past that and a little further up you will see a "One way" sign on your right and directly to the left will be the road to take.. It is a typical camp ground loop with paved spots to park.
