For French Creek RV Camp: First let me say my wife and I do not stay at large campgrounds filled with things to do, with people everywhere and gatherings galore. We like the smaller campgrounds where the host actually knows your name, comes and makes sure once or twice a day that all is going okay and if not they get fixed immediately, and quiet. We looked at French Creek carefully on line and did not expect all of this in this campground. The location in itself was a concern especially where it appeared so close to the center of town. Boy were we wrong. As someone put it earlier, this is a hidden gem. The campground has been redone, improved to even the highest standards with new electric, water hook ups, new gravel and level areas, fairly well spaced sites and a very attentive host. There was no noise at all during most of our stay. The only noise we had in our several days of staying here was on a Saturday night when we heard two loud trucks in the distance. The location is right along a creek with steep wooded hills behind the camp site. Deer are often seen walking around and of course the local wild rabbit Cosmos seems to have taken up residence in the area. The location is perfect for resupply, shopping, Jewel Cave National Monument, Wind Cave National Park and Custer State Park.
We give this campground definitely 5 stars. We would stop back again if we ever pass through here again.

For French Creek RV Camp: This is a cash only business. We tried to make a reservation from the road, they required a deposit be made by check and mailed to them. If you’re like us and primarily use credit card to pay this may not work for you. The lady in the office was very nice. We drove by it when in Custer and the spots are extremely close together.

For French Creek RV Camp: French Creek is a very small rustic park. Do not come here and expect to see a 5 Star Resort BUT this is a hidden gem.

The park is gravel and dirt. Can accommodate big rigs. We have a 44’ Toyhauler. GREAT cell reception and water pressure. Has a tent camping area next to French Creek. Dianne the manager is the nicest lady we have met.
It is located 15 minutes to Crazy Horse, 30 minutes to Mt. Rushmore and 10 minutes to Custer State Park. The town is a one block walk to restaurants, shops and breweries.
We will definitely be back!

For French Creek RV Camp: Great location to the parks in the area. Donna is a very sweet and kind host. Being in the center of town it is walking distance to the Main Street shops and resteraunts.

For French Creek RV Camp: Came here because of Passport America! Very nice campground in a great location with awesome campground host's/owners. Rock, the host, is one of a kind but real. He gave us a great recommendation for dinner (Mac's Grub) and said he wouldn't send us anywhere he wouldn't eat. If you're ever in Custer area (Mount Rushmore) I highly recommend you stay at the French Creek Campground.
