For Spearfish City Campground: Our spot in our 36’ motor home was on the back loop across from the creek and walking/biking path. Perfect. Husband spent some time fly fishing. Close to historical fish hatchery and city park. Doggie bags and trash cans provided. Tent area has small creek running thru it. Facilities were closed. Only downside is unfriendliness and unhelpful ness of office workers. Had a package delivered from Amazon our second day which they could not find until after we left two days later.

Moira
For Spearfish City Campground: We stayed here 3 nights (July 16-19).
We loved how the spots were spaced out... not too close. We stayed in an interior spot under a tree or two.
There are great bike trails from this park... we even rode to two differen breweries.
You can also ride to downtown...very close (just a few blocks). The City Park is next door and lovely. And as others mentioned, the Fish Hatchery is fascinating!
I recommend driving the Spearfish Canyon route to see multiple waterfalls.
Bathrooms were very nice.
Would definitely stay here again.

For Spearfish City Campground: Great facilities, great location to explore local town and parks. Watch out for bison in Custer state park, We had a couple of young bulls charge us while on the Harley.....no injuries or damage to bike.

For Spearfish City Campground: Awesome Family Campground. National Fish Hatchery and Museum across the street. Beside that is a fantastic playground in the city park. The shower and bathroom is the nicest we’ve seen on our entire trip through South Dakota. $45 for full hook up. Spaces are tight and packed in but trees are sprinkled through providing shade and a pleasant atmosphere. Picnic tables and fire rings are nice. Bike path runs beside campground. Creek runs through. Tent sites are spread out in nice green areas. Can reserve over phone. Follow directions on website not gps.

The campground is very well maintained and monitored. Full hookups available.
Code access to wonderful shower and toilet houses.
Beautiful little city.
Only negative is poor wifi

For Spearfish City Campground: The park is very nice and clean with trails and a stream. Lawns were lush and there was lots of trees. Staff were friendly and helpful. Yes spaces were close together but plenty of room for the table and a fire pit. Great value and would plan to stay here again

Craig
For Spearfish City Campground: Nice location at the stream. Otherwise the WIFI they advertise is non-existent, the over-the-TV is non-existent within city limits, and they spray herbicides on the rocks while kids and dogs are playing in their sites (without warnings). "I'm behind on my spraying and I'm told to do it." is the response. They stop boon docking at Walmart to push people here. Don't like city councils choices and won't come back. Too many good CGs locally.
