For Harrison Bay State Park: First time staying at this state park but was pleasantly . We have a 40’ Motorhome and stayed on site A42 which has a beautiful lake view. Site was level, water and 50 amp service but no sewer. We will return if in the area. Note, I would suggest you stay in section A if driving big rig. O

Up to it camper
For Harrison Bay State Park: Stayed 2 Nights
Weather: Pleasant ( 60’s storm front on the way in) entrance to park is narrow. The check-in parking is non-existent you put it in park and turn the flashers. The attendant was courteous enough but since I was checking in on Sunday the person had better things to do. Camp store looked to be well stocked. Camp Host was an experience. I’m from a state that has a famous football program so when folks hear where your from the assume you are a fan. I’m not but it’s not a problem the camp host made this leap and inferred that they were a fan as well when I stated I wasn’t it seemed to be a problem. Not a biggie just an odd position for the ambassador of the park to take.
Driving through B section was an experience not only was the road narrow the bends around trees are not for the inexperienced you can see the scars on the trees from the failures to s realize that the trailer track is different from the truck in a turn.
Campsite B33 -Pull Through sign was faded and nobody bothered to change the placard from the last occupants.
I am not a pull through person so I chose because it was the best looking site available.
Water and Electric: Frostless spigot 45 psi (Normal) / Green lights on power protector
Set up: The most challenging I have ever faced. The grade was 15 degrees at minimum for a pull through very short tight turn with crew cab truck and 29’ TT. This was so bad that I had to move the picnic table to get the camper wheels straightened up. Then had to do a 12 point turn to get my truck out after unhooking. Had to put 3†under the wheels to level up side to side and front to back. The tongue was on the ground and tail 3’ high.
Amenities
Cell service good with Verizon. Internet despite Chattanooga being the leader in the county the free camp network was poor at best.
Rec area about normal
Trails many and well marked. Only one that is connected to RV camping area.
Summary
The set up aside the, amenities are normal. The park seems to be arranged around a marina. So the noise of that was a factor. Met some nice campers but there was one that gave me pause I mean we are nomads but this person not only looked sketchy but the RV , car, and truck all had different state license plates the guy liked to play music way too loud in the vehicle. Every body has the right to their own camping experience and we are all different in what we like/dislike however campground etiquette is followed so everyone can enjoy their experience. I come to the Chat area frequently but I’ll not be back here. I’m on the page Been there Done that - have the T-Shirt.

Camper Vitae
For Harrison Bay State Park: This state park is close to home but we have camped here several times. The park is very beautiful and clean with many RV sites on the water. The roads are a bit narrow but had no issues with 28’ TT. Had to stop at camp store to register with no where to park. Just parked in road. Not crowded this time of year but summer is a different story. Nice peaceful stay.

For Harrison Bay State Park: So grateful for this beautiful campground! We stayed here about a week ago while trying to stay ahead of the “Arctic Blastâ€. Our core battery got drained from a rookie mistake of mine, so we needed somewhere to charge for a couple of days both metaphorically and literally. We had no issue getting our 32ft motorhome in our site. It was a beautiful and level site. The bathrooms were very clean and warm(: The state park itself was gorgeous! This fam would definitely return again!

For Harrison Bay State Park: This park has beautiful views of the lake but it is difficult to navigate with narrow roads and tight turns. Sites, especially those near the water, are uncomfortably close together and unlevel. Utilities work fine and wifi, cell, and TV reception is good. Peaceful place in spite of the drawbacks.

MIKE STAFFORD
For Harrison Bay State Park: Nice but outdated park. Not really big rig friendly. If you're looking for level best try an Ace Hardware for we could find nothing even close to level here. Ended up with the rear wheels about 4 inches off the ground and still not level.

DLeighty
For Harrison Bay State Park: We stayed here in a motorhome and probably had the best site in the campground, but it was extremely crowded, and difficult getting the motorhome to our site because of the narrow roads. We found a lot of trash on our site and along the waterfront that we felt compelled to clean up ourselves rather than look at or even worse, have a duck get hold of. Many of the other campers allowed their children to run wild, including through our site. The bathhouse is very out of date and needs to be upgraded. We never were able to find a ranger at the check-in point to get a map or information. The lake is very beautiful and this could be a wonderful campground if it was better maintained, perhaps utilizing camp hosts as other parks do.
