For Cherokee Landing Campground: I am sad to see the state of this thousand trails campground. It’s easy to see that this campground used to be beautiful and fun; however it is in such poor repair now that it’s not really fun to stay in.
Good: beautiful tree color and nice to have the option of boat rentals. There is one open lodge with pool tables and ping pong and WiFi. The pool looks like it may have been fun, though it was drained during our visit. Staff was friendly and helpful upon check-in.
Bad: backup strip on exit is extremely dangerous- it scraped the bottom of our car every time we exited and I feared for damage with our trailer.
The electrical is dangerous- as noted- the 50 amp is two wired in 30 amp breakers.
Our site was short and pretty unlevel- this seemed common.
The putt putt had no turf- it was just concrete- totally unplayable. The basketball hoop was on grass- also not playable. There is no dog park. The bathrooms are truly awful. A toilet in the women’s bathroom had been obviously clogged for weeks. There were cobwebs and spiders and dirt everywhere. I enjoyed the hot water and water pressure, but showered as quick as possible because it was so dirty. My husband reported that a toilet had been removed in the men’s bathroom but left with an open hole into the septic system, so the entire bathroom smelled of septic.
We have both Verizon and ATT. Service was very spotty and slow on both.
We used this campground for a few days just for a place to sleep at night. It’s so far out of town and any area attractions, and there’s nothing to do in the campground other than walk around the pretty trails.

For Cherokee Landing Campground: The worst campground I've ever seen! Bathrooms and showers were disgusting but the worst thing is that they have no idea how to run the place. Their "50 amp" hookup is a 50 Amp receptacle fed by two single pole 30 Amp circuit breakers. Illegal and dangerous for your rig. When I confronted the management about these problems they were very cavalier and said "if you don't like it, then leave" which we did and vow never to return!

For Cherokee Landing Campground: Positives: Quiet and secured campground with gate
Negatives: Very few full-hook ups, maybe 10 sites, and think all 30 amp; roads very poor shape, many, many sites are no longer in use, are overgrown and site decayed, bathrooms totally disgusting, laundry area is filthy dirty, bridge across pond needs maintenance, some of cabin roofs have holes (I don’t think these are being rented), recreation facilities are non-existent: putt putt, basketball, tennis court, horseshoes. There is a swimming pool which looked fairly decent. Strange thing was to get into pool area had to enter through men and women’s bathrooms. The outside gate to pool was never opened. We thought prior poor reviews were exaggerated but not the case. Campground could be beautiful; needs lots of TLC. We will not return until changes take place and this seems to be view of other campers. We camped over Memorial Day Weekend and campground about 40% full. Apparently the word is getting out. Sincerely hope TT will do something about it.

For Cherokee Landing Campground: This is the worst RV park I've ever been in. Roads narrow and in need of repair. Short, narrow and unleveled sites. Very few full hook ups with 30 amp service and none with 50 amp. Only about 15 50 amp sites and that was by wiring two 30 amp services together! Bathrooms needed cleaning. It's a shame because this could be a beautiful park.

For Cherokee Landing Campground: Upon arrival we somehow lucked into full hookup back-in site #19. I say lucky because 80% of the sites at this place are water and electric only. This site was level with incredible tree shade but unfortunately the voltage was consistently low. Running one A/C dropped us down to 106 volts. Yikes! And our electrical post did not have any standard outlets, so plugging in the second A/C was not an option. More bad news! Successfully programmed 20 or so over the air TV channels. My AT&T phone had one bar and the hotspot wifi was ok. This campground has definitely seen better days. Roads are torn up and in dire need of repair. Tennis courts and mini golf are in deplorable condition. Pool looked ok but we didn't try it. Lodge was closed due to Covid-19. Free wifi was available on the lodge deck but it was slow. Staff does not clean the restrooms on a regular basis. The garbage in the men's restroom was not emptied once during our one week stay. One of the washing machines was ok but the three dryers were rusted and barely worked. 50 cents per load seems like a good deal, but we had to do this three times to get our clothes even close to being dry. Overall this is one of the worst Thousand Trails campgrounds that we have ever stayed in.

For Cherokee Landing Campground: Quiet campground. Plenty of spots and has 30-50 amps. Use of canoes, pool, went fishing and relaxed. Will stay again.
