For Saddleback Mountain RV Park: We pulled in after a long day of driving. The manager was nice over the phone prior to our arrival and told us which sites were open, and she walked over to collect the $20 while we hooked up. We mentioned how unleveled and full of holes the site was, and she said one should expect such in west Texas. We wished we'd boon docked in the huge gas station lot next door instead. It was clean and level compared to the RV park. There were several RVs and trucks over there. We thought we heard a locomotive idling in the distance, but it became like white noise after a while. We thought we'd try the nearby state park instead, like a previous reviewer mentioned, but we drove over and found the driveway blocked by state police having a khaki conference. After they moved out of the way, we found the only large enough site for our big rig was taken by tent campers. Well, Balmorhea, TX will probably not be a place we stop in again.

Diana

For Saddleback Mountain RV Park: I was weary to stay here with the other reviews. I disagree with the ratings of them for the most part. The campground is nestled between beautiful views of hills, cactus, and flowers. For $20 a night you get a bar, restaurant, gas station, and a relatively level spot. The spots are all rock, so some have dips(small holes) in them. They are easy to avoid or cover up with more rocks. Staff here is extreemly friendly. We will be back and reccommend you give this park a chance on your own! We found this park last minute while passing through the area. We needed to pull over due to high winds. Extended our stay to 2 days. There is also a state park 10 miles down the road to swim and hike at!

For Saddleback Mountain RV Park: Not fancy. There is no office, just a trailer. $20/night full hookups no questions, no papers to fill out.

For Saddleback Mountain RV Park: Nothing special. No cable/Internet which is OK since I have my own hot spot. Old park with oilfield workers. I guess my biggest complain is not kept up, big holes in spaces. We stayed over night in a travel trailer
