For Calliham Unit - Choke Canyon State Park: Had a lovely stay although it was very humid. The only problem was there was no Verizon signal. It literally said no service. AT&T works. Not sure about T-mobile or sprint. We were that for two nights, Sunday and Monday. There were 3RVs in our loop and 2 in the other. Very quiet.

Dunglican

For Calliham Unit - Choke Canyon State Park: Camped here for three days because of the reviews I saw on Allstays and we loved it too. We had a spacious campsite with trees and a view of the lake, and spent all our time soaking up the sun and walking on the well maintained trails. Restrooms were spotless and the showers were hot.

The Hanson

For Calliham Unit - Choke Canyon State Park: We stayed Th-Sun, Jan 17-20 in a 40’ motorhome. We did not have a reservation, just showed up. Fortune. Park sites for our size were soon full. We were not on the water but had a nice view. Parked facing the reservoir. We had water and 50A with a picnic shelter. Our site #118 was level. Neighbors was not. Saw plenty of deer, javalina, birds. Nice stop on way south to RGV. Get groceries before you come. Would definitely stay again.

Rod

For Calliham Unit - Choke Canyon State Park: Stayed the March 23 weekend in our 5th wheel. All sites occupied - we made reservations 3 weeks ahead. Spacious but not on waters edge - decent views. We had water and 50A. Each site has a shelter with table and a fire pit. Rec area and nature exhibits nearby. Small bath house centrally located. Some sites are shaded. Paved roads and gravel sites. A nice stop approaching or leaving the RGV. 10 miles west of Three Rivers/US 281 on TX 72 (not the first park access at 3 miles west!). AT&T service acceptable for light internet use.

For Calliham Unit - Choke Canyon State Park: Camped at this park in mid-february. We were surprised to see most sites occupied at that time of year (mid-week), but found a nice spot okay. RV sites are spaced 50-100' apart, so had a feeling of privacy and lots of space. Grounds are well maintained. Lots of wildlife. A local guide was cleaning a mess of catfish at the cleaning station, so the fishing is evidently pretty good. Only downside is that campsites are a long way from the water, so it's not real easy accessing the lake shore for fishing.

For Calliham Unit - Choke Canyon State Park: Couldn't find a better park. Very quiet pleasant experience. Very nice and clean grounds, great electricity and water.

Our site was near water but still set back about 100 ft.

Will consider staying longer next time.

Stayed in 25ft trailer. Good Verizon and T-mobile coverage.

For Calliham Unit - Choke Canyon State Park: Beautiful, spacious park. Deer, turkeys, Javelinas, and bunnies all around. No sewer. Be careful with dogs and bare feet, stickers are all over the grass.
