For Potters Creek Park: We love this place. Our #92 site had a great view of the lake. Restrooms/showers were very nice, clean and warm. We were there in the winter for 1 week. I do not believe any of the sites offer sewer connection but they do have a dump station with one sewer hole. The water for rinsing has a hose with a broken off end, which makes it difficult for me to connect to the black water rinse connector. The gentleman in the gate entrance was very helpful and gave us good advise and tips on where to do laundry. We went to a nearby town called Wimberley which I highly recommend! The only thing I was not happy with, and I am sure this is a rule they must enforce, is no early check in. We arrived a couple hours early and were turned away. Then we arrived 8 minutes early and were told we had to leave the park grounds and park at a deserted gas station just outside the park. This seemed silly because why couldn’t we have simply lined up with the two other campers who arrived a few minutes early as we did. The entrance looked plenty big enough to accommodate. But again, me being Mr Optimistic assumes the guy was just enforcing the rules. After driving all day, I don’t have to like the rules! This is the first park, COE, State, or otherwise that we could not arrive early. All in all, I would definitely camp here again.

For Potters Creek Park: Just used the boat ramp to put a boat in for a trip around canyon lake. Boat ramp at this area is free. For getting a boat into Canyon Lake, this is a great place. Week day absolutely no one was there.

For Potters Creek Park: Stayed in August 2019 for 3 nights, not for the lake but for a wedding close by. Got only 4 stars for 2 reasons; 1. Trash dumpster was placed directly in the way of backing in a fifth wheel 35 ft trailer in site 77 loop 4. Found out talking to regular visitors that they have complained about the same issue and the dumpster is still being placed in the way for this site. Will pick another site next time. Sites are mostly level but you must back up a steep access on a few. 2. Same trash was in shower/bath house for multiple days so cleanliness was not the best. We used the shower house so we can take longer showers. Only water and electrical but acceptible to us (similar to other Texas government parks). Some sites are shady and others in direct sunlight so look at the satellite view before booking. Saw lots of wildlife on our morning walks. We will be camping here again - especially with 50% off with our senior pass.

For Potters Creek Park: Fortunately we’ve never given an Army Corp Park less than 5 stars! However this is the very first, and deservedly so I’m afraid. We were there for 1 week. Marge our host for a few days was excellent, smiled, was super helpful and very professional. Debbie and her husband- Beachee were another story I’m afraid. We arrived after dark and had called twice several hours earlier to ensure the gate would be open. No one called us back so we took our chances. When we arrived around 8pm we were surprised to see 2 hosts sitting inside the shack. Debbie never had eye contact with us, never smiled and never once greeted us even with a simple hello. No where to be found was a name tag nor the standard Army Corp t shirt but instead was wearing a spaghetti strap dress with old big tattoos abound! Not only unprofessional appearing but beyond unprofessional speaking. When I asked for directions to our site and a map she said... we don’t have maps because we’re spending all our $$ trying to fix up the park from a flood 3 years ago! 3 years ago???? She continued to mention this 3 more times as if I’d not heard it the first 2 times. She told us... “well, it’s not like you can get lost!” Nice! Then when I asked where would be the best place to un-book our car- I again asked for directions to that location- the boat dock- and she said “just go straight until you hit the water!” Again cuz that’s exactly what we want to do in a 38 ft RV! She spent the next 5 minutes showing me on her map all the places that we were not allowed to walk on, again because of the flood 3 years ago. I’m shocked that Army Corp didn’t mention this MINOR DETAIL anywhere on their website! You are only allowed to walk within your own camping loop! It’s a very beautiful area but you’re not allowed to walk anywhere!!! I’m guessing it’s not on the website because then campers wouldn’t come! When we finally made it to our site- the electric 50amp hook up was installed upside down!!!! We were ultimately told that everyone asks about this but then we’re told by mtx that this is to “code”! Hmmm I guess that means all other Army Corp are not to code? Our site was level, long and nice view! Although u can’t go on a walk further than a hundred feet away or so! The behavior of Debbie and her husband were truly shocking especially for Army Corp! The entire park was such a disappointment from day 1.
