For Overland Trail Campground: Dave checked us in, a Veteran who should be respected for that. He was very nice to my wife and I. Campground is old and a bit eclectic here and there. Price is reasonable and the place is fine for an overnight stay.

Bob
For Overland Trail Campground: Does not honor Passport America, says he hasn't for years. Only 30 amp power. The park is very run down and in dire need of upkeep. Stray dogs roam the park. Poor verizon signal.

Fred
For Overland Trail Campground: Crusty is a good term for Dave, I was struggling to find an appropriate term. As for cleanliness, not sure, I always use my own facilities. For the money, well I guess you can't beat it, good WiFi, adequate cable plus full hookups for $23 a night. It is close to what we wanted, McDonald Observatory and a great walking tour of an historic town. Place would be 5 star with a little effort at tidying up, and an attitude adjustment on the owners part. His website definitely needs updating, but I don't think Dave sees a problem with it.

For Overland Trail Campground: Made reservation for 50 amp full hookups and it was excepted by the manager ,who by the way is extremely rude. I arrived and tried to check in around 11:00 told come back in the afternoon I did and the site I was assigned was cramped next to the bathroom and only 30 amps outside temp upper 90's need two ac's. Never again

For Overland Trail Campground: David is a little crusty and website info is not accurate. However, he does warm up eventually and did set us up in a site that fit our rig. Our stay was pleasant with lots to do and some helpful advice from the manager

Ulysse
For Overland Trail Campground: Small, crowded, very small sites, all with electricity and water, some with sewer, did not test cable TV, WiFi good, did not accept Passport America to the contrary of what is advertized on his website. Offered the explanation that he did not accept PA for the last three months...
After mentioning that it was still advertized on his site, he said that he did not accept it during spring break...
Witch explanation is right? He insisted that this was mentionned (spring break) on the site. I could not find.
After this type of discussion, I did not dare asking if he accepted Good Sam, also advertized on his site.
For a one night stop, it is Ok but you have to excuse the rude manners of the owner/manager, the vetusty of the installations in general (badly leaking fawcet, for exemple), absence of "warm" water for the shower on the mens side and accept some uncertainty about what is the thrue policy of this campground, that seems variable.
Well overpriced for what we got, at 27$ per night.
