Stayed here two nights. Large spacious sites, some more level than others so check website for details. We were in the site 25, south loop, relatively level and farther away from road traffic. Winter so windows were closed and we didn’t hear the traffic. If staying in the north loop you would. Very convenient to exploring Waco. Would definitely stay again.

Nice little campground. Other than the older bathrooms and traffic from the highway it’s a nice and clean campground. Nice paved sites with great cover.

Beautiful park. Shaded and paved sites. We stayed at site number 1. Sunset views. Clean restroom. Fire pit as well as grill. Saved $$ with Senior Pass.

Came here due to $12 primitive site advertised on their site, after few minutes check-in with front kiosk, a site was assigned to us. We followed kiosk instruction to park our travel trailer on the pavement and off the grass. About an hour later, a man from ACE approach and said we cannot use this site and proceed to lectured us about different between classification of sites and threaten us of the ranger tendency. Elsewhere in US, whether in National or State Park, primitive site will accommodate both tent and small RV, but apparently this park in Waco will make big deal of that and still assign wrong site to you then send some guy to harass you about it. Fed up with the park worker incompetency, we relented and move to another site but wanted to stay 2 days instead of 3 days. Well, this is another unpleasant surprise; electric/water site cost has changed from $20 (according to ACE website) to $24 per night on park current price list. And the kiosk could not honored the 2 days requested, so we have to pay for 3rd day against our wishes. So if you want incompetent worker to handle your site booking, come here to this beautiful park. If you want to ruin your romantic lake Waco sunset by unpleasant surprises and know that you stay in a site that you do not want, then this is your destination.

Excellent COE most campsites are shaded by trees. Pads are wide & level. No noise heard from Hwy 6 while at sites #4 (lakeside) and #24 during our 4 nights stay. We can't comment on the bathhouse, as we didn't use it. Overall, this is a very lovely, well-maintained, smaller COE with friendly staff. We would definitely return.
P.S. The campground host site does require some attention.

Great park, well maintained, very shaded sites, have stay twice during the week, not crowded during the week. Would stay again.

Best I can say is this was adequate for the overnight stop we needed. This park is on a very busy, noisy highway. Not a destination stay for us.
