For The Needles Squaw Flat Campground - Canyonlands National Park: We were looking for a place to stay that would be convenient to hiking within the Needles District of Canyonlands NP. We're self contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed on a weekend in early May.
This is a beautiful campground with inspiring views. It is very well maintained. New in 2017 is that sites in the A loop can be reserved. Sites 1-5 are very private while sites 12-17 are arranged in a loop. Most sites require some leveling. Sites in the B loop are walk in and a bit smaller. Most sites have some shade for at least part of the day. There are no hookups although water is available near the bathrooms. There's no ATT or Verizon cell coverage and no wifi. The host was friendly and helpful.
There are several hiking trails to choose from that leave from the CG. There are regular ranger programs in the evenings. The Visitor Center is 3.5 miles from the CG.
