For Kings Bottom Camping Area: Visited in June, 2019. Very convenient campground close to Moab, Arches, and Canyonlands. I stayed in site 8, which had fantastic views of the Colorado River and the canyon walls, even an arch. There are drive-in sites and walk-in sites. Road 279 leads to nice OHV trails, so expect some noise as they drive by during the day, but after sunset it was quiet. The campground fills up in the late afternoon. Put toilets and trash bins, no water. McDonald’s has free WiFi even in their parking lot just 10 minutes away.

For Kings Bottom Camping Area: We visited this campsite June 2017. $15 sites. Great location for quick and easy visits to Moab and the surrounding areas. Campsites were clean. The single restroom was in good condition and suitable for the number of campsites. The area was nice but there was really no river view to speak of, and inaccessible because of growth and/ or erosion slides at the edge. The canyon walls were a pretty setting, both on the opposite side of the road from the campsite & across the river. The mosquitos were extremely hard to deal with early in the evening, even with spray, specifically around dinnertime. There is light extra traffic due to jeeps driving up the canyon paths down the street, but the last group is typically out by 9 or 10p and is not really bothersome.
