For Thousand Lakes RV Park: This was a delightful campground with many amenities. There were a couple of laundry facilities, playground, cabins, tent sites, a grill that served dinners, a nice gift shop, dog walk and hair cut services, and full hook ups. The campground is very well maintained. Staff is responsive to concerns and addressed issues immediately. The vista can't be beat with mountains on both sides of the campground. Unfortunately, Wifi and cell phone service are very poor. Additionally, the cable TV had poor reception.

For Thousand Lakes RV Park: Came back after staying in cabin in October with my travel trailer. My original comments stand about the place overall. However, we were assigned to one of the newer spots on the periphery. First the good news: great view out the back window for sites D1 through 58. The bad news is those sites and M1 to M7 are an expanse of gravel with sites separated by a line of rocks.

Also there is no propane on site. The there are exchange tanks. 7 gallon (the bigger ones) for 30 bucks. I refilled my tank at Wonderland RV Park down the road for 27 bucks. Not picking on Thousand Lakes, however, I found out there that the 7 gallon exchange tank only contains about 5 gallons. (The 5 gallon has 3.4). Do the math: exchange tank 6 bucks a gallon, fill your own 3.85 bucks a gallon. Total savings: 3 bucks in price plus two gallons short at 6 bucks = 15 bucks. Assuming you continue to exchange. If you refill the exchanged tank they only got you for 3 + 2x2.15 = 7.30. This is true for all exchanges. I checked it out.

For Thousand Lakes RV Park: Stayed there on July 20, 2017 in one of the camping cabins. I liked the large, green, grass common area in front. Would have stayed longer but they were booked. Showers were dated but clean and functional. Staff was great. Ate their special cowboy barbecue. It was not great. Ribs were dry and overlooked.

Overall the place was great. Planning on returning in October with my Travel trailer for a longer stay.

PS: A note on my use of the 1-5 scale. My 5 is reserved for really special places that are few and far between. On the scale others use it would be a 5.

For Thousand Lakes RV Park: We stayed at Thousand Lakes the first of July 2017. The campground was super convenient to Capitol Reef N.P. 6 miles to the entrance and another 6 to the Visitor Center. I oscillated between 4 and 5 stars. Since this wasn't a super-memorable spot on our 3 week trip, I went with 4 stars...I'd go with 4.5 stars if that were an option. Certainly a great choice for the area.

The campground is as one would expect in this part of Utah...flat, red clay and beautiful views. I didn't see and can't imagine a better option as a spot to stay while touring Capitol Reef. I have zero complaints about this campground. Our gravel site was level, had a shade tree (something appreciated in this area), picnic table, and a fire pit...with plenty of space between us and the guy in the adjacent site. We were pulling a tow vehicle with our 25' Motorhome, so were 42' long overall and had room to spare in our site w/o unhooking the toad, so I'd say this RV park is big rig friendly. The interior roads through the campground were easy to navigate. Our dogs appreciated the patches of grass at the end of the aisles. There is a pool and playground for the kiddos. The camp store was one of the best we've seen and has a good selection of snacks, rv items and souvenirs...the buyer does a good job. Staff was friendly. We paid $41 incl tax, for a pull thru with FHU (not sure we were credited for the 10% Good Sam discount). I would definitely stay here again. If you are coming this way, I highly recommend taking the more scenic (and slower) routes across UT...Hwy 24 and Hwy 12. The scenery is stunning and traffic practically nil. The landscape is absolutely breathtaking...unlike anything you will see in other parts of the world.

For Thousand Lakes RV Park: the nicest park we visited during our 3 weeks in CO, UT, KS. The hosts were very accommodating. The views were beautiful. Sites were large enough (although some had fairly low hanging branches). Facilities were clean. Great giftshop.

For Thousand Lakes RV Park: My people stopped here in this RV park in case it got hot and they needed to use the air conditioning for me. No worries, the park has great shade, and beautiful views of the Red Rock Cliffs. It is a very quiet park. My owners didn't use the showers but all of the park is well cared for. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Only wish there was a dog run or trail to get outside of the park. Sam the dog had to be driven somewhere for some off leash time. We already made reservations for our return trip.
