For Cave Springs Recreation Area: Before I talk about this site I want to mention my biggest pet peeve, campground hosts. Well meaning folks for the most part but other's not so much. You know the kind that show up 5 minutes after you park either forcing you to register or urging you to do so. So if any hosts are reading this. Please chill out! Driving an rv to a new location thru unfamiliar back roads is stressful. Give the wary traveler a chance to settle in get level and relax a bit.

Ok campground with mostly level sites and adequate facilities. Nice trails and even a natural pool. Only negative is that the elec sites are on the inner circle and hard to back into. very steep incline on loop exacerbates the problem.

I was 'attacked' by the host while trying to back in. Thinking he was going to offer to help.I rolllled down my window and he told me I needed to register as soon as possible. I was stunned. Who trains these people? After I leveled out and plugged in I went and registered. Go back to site to unpack and get things in place an lo and behold he is back demanding to see my stub. I was fuming at this point. They found some reason or another to bother me every day of my stay and I was the only one there. Lol

Whereas the NPS seems to have decent screening and training of hosts who take pride in their facility, the NFS seems to hire anybody and lets them live there free forever without doing a lick of work. Ramshackle trailers that haven't moved in years to in this case a bunch of tents. Never once saw a NFS employee in the week I was here.
