For Candy Hill Campground: Will definitely stay here again! Those of us from the north know how hard it is to find RV places open year round. This one is a keeper! Nice tidy bath house. We visited at a time that water is turned off due to cold temps yet were offered to get water on board. We opted to keep tanks winterized and used the toasty warm facilities. Another perk is the huge dog park. Road noise was not a bother as someone posted—heard it but not a problem for us.

For Candy Hill Campground: Nice, clean campground. Friendly staff. Close to a neat pedestrian-friendly city with multiple restaurants. We didn’t use the bathrooms, store, pool, etc., so I can’t comment. One nice thing is the ability to order dinner from a local restaurant delivered to your site. We’ve enjoyed this on several occasions when we’ve arrived late and hungry. The one negative - and it’s a big one - is road noise. We’re right next to a major highway and it is loud! For nearly $50 for a site, I do expect some peace and quiet. We stay here because we like the nearby town of Winchester, but if there were other options we’d take them.

For Candy Hill Campground: Staff was nice and accommodated our request for 50AMP even though reservation was for 30AMP. Campground was clean and restrooms well maintained. The only issue we had was the road noise. Campground is near a major highway and there is a lot of traffic, which is why I would not stay there again. Nice dog park and open areas for walking dogs.

For Candy Hill Campground: I gave a review previously and I forgot to mention they charge you for coming in early. We came in one hour early they charged us two dollars so we’re good Sam discount amounted to $.93! Whoopee!! Also if you have someone come visit you it’s five dollars for them to enter, unless they leave within the hour then you will get four dollars back. In our 20 years of full timing we’ve never been to a park to have so many extra charges and yet be so pricey. Would I come here again, no.

For Candy Hill Campground: Nice looking large park. Rv’s are parked every which way. Too pricey for being parked next to the highway, very noisy. Staff was friendly. Next time I would stay at Lazy A campground which is 9 mile off the highway, in the country, quiet and not so pricey.

For Candy Hill Campground: First, I will mention I did not stay here. We tried to set up a 3 week stay, and used their BookYourSite tool. The tool worked fine, and aftyer the booking, we received a phone call from a very pleasant lady trying to confirm our reservation. That was when we learned we only had a 30-Amp Premium site. No big deal, we live like this and know that we can just move to a different site or campground if needed to get the 50-Amp. The nice lady stated that she would tell her mgmt team about it, and see if they could do anything else. This is where it goes off the rails a bit. The call from the owner/manager was cold, and he clearly believed that he was doing us a favor by making his campground available to us. I politely let him know that we needed 50-amp, and he said he could not do that - again, no big deal to me. He was quick to tell me that it was clearly marked on the BookYourSite tool. The site was only listed as W/E/S Premium.... no mention of 30 or 50 amp service in that description. Then I let him know that we would find other options. He then told me we would be refunded all but $15. Again, as fulltimers, we know that they do this and the reasoning why. I asked him if that was the case since we reserved so far in advance, and he told me that it was clearly marked in the reservation tool and cancellation policy. Now, I am OK with all of this. Sometimes you get the 50 Am, and sometimes not - places have to charge a cancellation fee. Again, no problem there. But the whole time it felt like a scolding, he was not helpful, and again made it sound like he was doing me a favor. The staff seems friendly, but if you have to deal with the manager/owner, forget customer service..... or even someone polite.

For Candy Hill Campground: Staff is rude. Manager, who I talked with, sets the tone and it obviously filters down. Some of the check in ladies are nice. It is on major highway. Highway noise. Luxury sites are closest to the hwy. when high capacity power drops, it was down to 107 volts, lights dimming. They are doing you a favor to let you camp there. Park is clean, kept well, good dog run. Some sites are roomy, most are close. We camped at Candy Hill Campground in a Travel Trailer.
