For Swauk Campground: Would not stay there again. Spent one night this past weekend in a tent. Even though our tent is small, 2-person backpacking tent, it was pretty impossible to find a flat area. We did come in late and had to search for a spot via flashlight. Finally did find one fairly flat and set up for the night. This is a small campground right along side of the Blewett Pass highway, so expect to hear lots of road noise well into the night. It did calm down around midnight but started right back up by around 6 am the next morning. Bring ear-plugs. Also, if you come in late, pay your camp fee that night, because the camp host comes through around 7 am to collect late camp fees and will roust you out of be if you are not already up. There's really only one prime camp site in this place, the one furthest down and closest to the creek. If you can't get that one, there's really no big differences between the others except some are closer to the outhouse. The place is clean & the outhouse is well-stocked. It's a good location if you want to day-trip into Leavenworth, and while $18 for a tent site, picnic table and access to an outhouse is pretty steep, it beats the cost of a motel! Btw the night I stayed, there was a rowdy group of people yelling and being very loud well into the night. Apparently there is no 10 pm quiet time enforced here. That on top of all the traffic noise was almost unbearable.
