For Cape Disappointment State Park: Nice campground, site B97, clean bathrooms, host water and showers, semiprivate sites, walk to beach, asphalt pad, no wifi at site, but ok near buildings. Has a large park with great beaches, tons of driftwood, dog friendly trails. North Head area and Beards Hollow best for hiking. Lots of wildlife - river otters, balk eagles, deer.

For Cape Disappointment State Park: We stayed with a 26 foot motor home and towed jeep in loop A, full hookups. The campsites are large and level, with plenty of room to park a towed vehicle as well. Beautiful place indeed. We had reserved site A34, but they let us stay in A23 because they did not expect high enough tides to flood A23. These sites are ON the beach, with driftwood in the back of our campsite. A little spooky. No cell service, so tsunami warnings might be a problem? Nice utilities (full hookups) Bathrooms had puddles on the floors. Did not go into showers. This is much nicer than Ft. Stevens park to the south in Oregon. The Pickled Fish restaurant in Long Beach is superb, with a great view from the 4th floor and really good food.

For Cape Disappointment State Park: We stayed in C camp without hookups. Site #168 has a nice view of the ocean but it is also next to the walking path to the beach and therefore gets a lot of traffic. We had one warm, sunny day which was a treat. Lots of hiking and Lewis and Clark history. At this time of year, there are mosquitoes. Bathrooms are dated. AT&T service spotty.

For Cape Disappointment State Park: B site was good. Close enough to walk to the beach. We were welcomed by a raccoon. It says it in their brochure.

Just a Camper
For Cape Disappointment State Park: This review is for the tent area. Since we’re completely self-contained, we did not want to spend the extra $10 for a hook-up. The tent area is grassy, not close to the beach, adequate, but nothing special.
Showers were old and dirty (although free).. Good for one night, but not a longer stay

For Cape Disappointment State Park: We had heard such great things about this park but this was truly a disappointment to us. Make sure you get in the main campground or "the good campground" as the ranger called it when we were checking in. We did not have a reservation and it was a late check in so we were in the other campground. Site #231. I think $25/night for dry camping in a grassy area next to the road is a lot. Garbage and recycling hard to find.

For Cape Disappointment State Park: One of our favorite sites. Lots to do and see. Beach is amazing. It is west coast camping so don't plan on sunbathing and remember to bring a jacket. Sites are great and with the configurations the kids had lots of fun riding their bikes around. Oregon really knows how to do state parks. Best we have seen on the west coast. This includes our home Province.
