For Cascade Peaks Vista: Would not stay here again. Picked this place based on availability and a change in plans during our long-term RV vacation. As other reviews have stated it is a very large area, and most of the roads are full of potholes and overgrown. We had to drive around to find our spot because we weren’t given a map and we were just told to choose a spot we liked. We ended up in the large open area with full hook ups. Upon arriving there were several rigs and campers that appear to be abandoned, or permanent residents living there because there were things like fabric recliners and just junk sitting around outside. There was one guy who stared us down while we were driving in and then lit up a Doobie and smoked it while we were setting up. We have kids so the smell was unwelcome. I definitely would not recommend this “park.†It doesn’t feel safe here. Very sketchy. The drive here is beautiful but the park is hard to find even using a GPS.

For Cascade Peaks Vista: Customer service and staff was friendly. The park is huge. There appears to be some spots that are privately owned and have signs and chains up that say keep out. In the “full hook up†area there are a lot of long term rigs with most in disrepair, have personal belongings spread outside their RV. One of the large trash dumpster had trash stacked up outside the dumpster 2 of the three days we were there.

For Cascade Peaks Vista: I think this park took over Cascade Peaks RV Resort because the addresses are the same. When you check in, you are asked if this is your first time visiting the park. A yes answer gets you an almost unreadable map without a magnifying glass. You are told to drive around and find a spot you like and place your paper reserved sign on the electric box. Sounds easy. But, the roads are lumpy, bumpy, full of potholes, muddy and so narrow as to make driving them not only a chore but a bit dangerous, especially with a larger rig. Some places are overgrown with tree branches and vegetation. Those places also abound with mosquitoes. There are some permanent residents who do not make anyone feel welcome, as attested to by the Keep Out and No Trespassing signs. There are a couple of nice looking spots with a view of the river and mountains but they proved hard to get into. Electric boxes in most places are located at the front of the sites making it difficult to hook up without an extension cord. Some of the electric boxes are burned out. Sites are not level and are grassy, all dirt, rocky, or a combo. Bathrooms need attention. There are fire rings made out of tire rims. And campfires are allowed. We found that fir us, staying in the meadow was the best. More open, fewer mosquitoes. This place is close to Mount Rainier and Mount Saint Helens. And there were a lot of people staying here, so obviously, it works for them. For our part, we would never stay here again!

For Cascade Peaks Vista: How this place has 5 stars is beside me. There must have been thousands of people camping over the weekend, each site had at least 5 tents. Most had villages of people set up. It’s a massive free for all. Did not feel safe. Our electric was broken, water pressure was bad, and when you pull into the first come full hook area people come outside and stare you down. As if almost saying don’t you pull in next to me. The spaces are very funky. We did not enjoy camping here on our 6 month RV trip, this would rank as the worst experience we had.

For Cascade Peaks Vista: This is a great campground! Fantastic for kids - zipline (flying fox) that they can do by themselves, tree swings, obstacle style playground, heaps of space to explore. We stayed at the end of the season so it was very quiet. Bathroom was dated. Staff lovely and helpful. Would be a fun place to camp with a group of families. Oh yeah, some sites are permanently booked out - they are empty/vacant ready for when they come with their rv/tents etc, which goes to show just how loved this campground is!!! I’ve not seen this in any other campground, usually there are rvs or trailers left onsite.

For Cascade Peaks Vista: I find that so many camping reviews are very subjective. We all expect different things from a campground, so let me tell you what I look for: I want to have some personal space between RVs; that is, I don’t have to worry about hearing someone snoring in the next trailer. At this place, you have lots of elbow room between sites. I love having a little bit of room. The place is rustic, for sure, but I love that about it. It feels more like I’m camping rather than setting up in a crowded RV Park with every amenity known to man! This place is a great place to walk around; there is a river, lots of wooded areas, and the staff are really friendly. If you want modern and camped, find another place. If you want peace, quiet, and rustic, by all means come here.
