For Kohler-Andrae State Park: Camped first weekend of April 2022. Temps were average 30-35deg. So glad we had an electric site. My electric heater kept things between 60 and 65 deg in our 36 ft travel trailer. It was pretty comfortable for us. Loved hiking through the rolling sand Dunes and the board walk through the marsh. We had both 30 and 50 amp service. Camped along the marsh. Great view for breakfast in the morning. Lots of waterfowl around. During this time (start of April) the park keeps its water fill up and dumping station closed because of freezing temps. Nature center was also closed. There is a Loves nearby and we used their dumping station. No mosquitoes in April!!!

For Kohler-Andrae State Park: Site is reasonably level. Narrow for slides on both sides. Electric is 30A only, as expected. No water, as expected. No sewer, as expected. Beautiful surroundings. Sites are well spaced for privacy. Generally a nice park except for the hidden costs not presented in reservations system, see below.

Park must not have a mosquito abatement program as mosquitos are thick at all times

In addition to the total of our camping fees $35/night and transaction fee of $9.65 from reserve America (as expected), the park levies an additional $11.00 per vehicle, per day charge for non-Michigan license plates. To avoid paying on both your motorhome and tow car, be sure to have the tow hooked when you enter otherwise each vehicle is assessed separately.

If you like to save a little money by staying at state parks, avoid this one. Our two nite stay totaled $102 for 30A only hookups. If price is not a concern and you are looking to enjoy some camping with trails and nearby lake shore, you'd probably be happy here.

For Kohler-Andrae State Park: Great campground! Sites are nice and very well spaced. Rollling hills with lots of trees. Lake Michigan is only yards away. A few of the sites are very private. Some of the non electric sites will make you feel like your all alone in the woods. One of our favorite cgs. Sheboygan is a few minutes away too. We love the German food at AL and Al's.

HappyDaddy

For Kohler-Andrae State Park: Beautiful location and campground but hard to get into due to its popularity. Since this is a State Park expect lots of bugs and poison ivy seems to be common even directly in the campsites.

There is a city 10 minutes away so if you forgot anything is a short drive, comes in handy with little kids.
