For Yukon River Campground: We were looking for a place to stay that would be convenient to explore Dawson City. We’re self-contained in our 8 m (25 ft) MH and don’t use the facilities. We stayed on weeknights in late August. This is a nice primitive (no hookups) campground on the west side of the Yukon River, convenient to the ferry into Dawson. It has about 90 sites of various sizes arrayed in a large loop. Most sites are dirt, level, and shaded. A few are on the river with nice views. The CG was only 25% full during our stay. There are pit toilets and trash bins throughout the park. There’s no dump station and no source for potable water to fill an RV. There may be a water pump. There was good ATT via Telus and Verizon cell service. The ferry is free and runs 24/7. There could be a wait during busy times. There’s a Dawson City/Yukon Visitor Center with lots of information for things to do in the area. There’s a Dempster Highway/NWT Visitor Center for info on driving the Dempster. Note the CG in downtown Dawson City charges $5 for dump and fill. There’s also free potable water at the corner of 2nd and Duke.
