Virginia

For Illinois State Fairgrounds Campground: For $20 per night we have total quiet, 60 psi water--the best we've ever had on the road, good electric, sewer, and we are near everything including Lincoln memorials and good shopping. We feel safe here even though we are in the city--I haven't seen noncampers wandering through the campground like I have at other fairground RV parks. Most spots here don't have sewer. All have electric and water. Older section has lots of trees. Newer section has full hookups but no trees. A lot of parking spots here are sloped so bring Jack blocks or wood to put under your jacks. Enter at gate 11. Wifi here is useless. But we get 3 bars of Verizon LTE so life is good.

Ellen

For Illinois State Fairgrounds Campground: In September it was less than 10% full. There are a few for hook ups, and most have electric and water. We were totally level, and had a little shade. Nice grassy areas around the RV. Because it was so empty we were nicely spaced, would be pretty tight if actually full. Showers were very clean, and the manager was very nice. Showed us how to walk to Lincolns tomb. We were just there one night, but would happily stay longer. Just $20 for the night, an extra dollar if you pay with credit card.

Glenn F

For Illinois State Fairgrounds Campground: Great for a couple days stay. Only $20/night for senior for full hook up. You will need a long sewer hose to hook up but otherwise elect (50Amp)and water are at the back of the camper. No trees and no grass where we were camped. close to downtown to see the Lincoln presidential Moseum and Lincoln tomb. Eneter at gate 11. Always check in advance to see if anything is going on at state fair

Doug

For Illinois State Fairgrounds Campground: Great camping area. Some shaded areas, some with all pavement, some with grass. Everyone I believe has electric and water and a few full hookup. Easy dump station as we didn’t have sewage hook up. Only 2 miles to Lincoln house and up the street from tomb. Best location for seeing the city.

Marilee

For Illinois State Fairgrounds Campground: Stopped for a quick overnight. Had fairly level grass site, didn’t have to unhook from tow vehicle. Attendant got us a site close to restroom/shower as I was having trouble walking secondary to an injury. Showers could use a good scrubbing, but, lots of hot water and great water pressure. Would definitely stay here again.

Turner

For Illinois State Fairgrounds Campground: Stayed 6 nights because of the flat track races. Sites are okay but unlevel, FHU 50 amp. Back in site with our 40’ and car. Wouldn’t stay again.

2gyspies

For Illinois State Fairgrounds Campground: Stayed for 2 nights. 50 amp, water and some had sewer. All 50 amp are parking lot type sites. All level. Mike, in the office, was extremely helpful. Would stay here again.
