For Escondida Lake Park: Spent a bit over a week here in December. Making a reservation was a little tough as their site is down. It was relatively clean and quiet. You can hear the train going through late at night, but it didn’t really bother us. It was only $18/night and the hookups worked well. There are prickly things all over the grassy area that gets stuck on dog paws and hurt, but stick to walking your pets on the roads and you should be fine. The lake next to the campsite is nice and there’s plenty to do nearby. Getting into town is close and convenient. Cell phone service on Verizon & AT&T is good.

For Escondida Lake Park: Bathrooms are clean and the water is hot, but there are no showers. Hook ups are well maintained. You must make reservations online, but someone does answer the phone if you call with questions. Playground is nice. Dogs must be leashed. You can hear and see the trains, but they don’t seem to come through during the night. We spent one night during a storm and would happily do it again.

For Escondida Lake Park: For $18 a night, full hookups, 30 amps, I thought a great deal. Trains have been very few, did not come through during the night. Camping sites are in a long row, each site has a table and large shade tree. Can handle any size rig. No grass, gravel and dirt. It is 1.4 miles from interstate. It would be hard to find after dark. Reservation only and very nice person over phone.
