For Dyess AFB FamCamp: Stopped off here for 2 nights while traveling across I20.
Fairly small FamCamp with mostly active duty on site.Nice bathhouse and laundry room, however no hot water in either due to leak. Camp sites are level concrete pads with picnic tables and grills.approx a mile and half to BX and commissary. Really just an average so/so camp but extremely pricey for military
FamCamp at $35 per night. Have experienced much nicer with more amenities at other bases much cheaper. Would stay again as stopover but their rates should be adjusted.

For Dyess AFB FamCamp: Clean and level lots. Not a big campground but certainly a place that we could come back to. Lots of construction going on right now making it pretty difficult to get back to the campsite if you are in a big rig. Once they’re very clean and level. MWR (Office) is not physically on the Pham camp so be prepared to walk a distance to sign in. There is no turnaround available at the office or do not drive to the office to register.

For Dyess AFB FamCamp: Use the side gate (Tye Gate). Be prepared for heavier security measures (no biggie really). Had to get a visitors pass for the wifey as her military ID expired. Not a huge ordeal but did take some time to complete. The site is very nice and well maintained. Very pricey though ($35.00). Not far from commissary and the exchange. Btw, there is no Starbucks on post as some goggle searches show. We will definitely return!

For Dyess AFB FamCamp: As of March 2018, large vehicles MUST use the commercial delivery entrance, Tye Gate. Do NOT use the main gate...you will get stuck and/or damage your RV. The Tye Gate is on Military Drive, on the north side of the base. New concrete barriers were recently placed and the resulting serpentine path is way too tight for Class As and Fifth Wheels. Frankly, I would not try it if I were even only towing a small trailer. Otherwise, agree with the other reviews. This is a nice little park that is very well maintained. Basically a good spot for a couple of days if you are in Abilene, TX.

For Dyess AFB FamCamp: Lovely new campground. Paved loop roads and level concrete pads. No trees, but we are talking about Abilene, TX! The $35 dollar nightly rate is a bit high considering the market, but the weekly and monthly rates are very doable. We couldn't get in touch with the office so we just showed up on Veterans Day (Saturday) and used the after hours procedure. Nice laundry room with change machine and this is where the registration paperwork and envelopes reside. Don't use the GPS coordinates...not sure where it's going. As you enter the main gate on Arnold from Dub Wright take the first right at the B1 "Lancer" that's on display and continue on past the medical facility. You will see the famcamp. Shopette/Class VI are nearby and close to the commissary and BX. Shopette fuel is gasoline only but the Sunoco station on the way in/out of the base has diesel. The Shopette also has a Blue Rhino exchange.

For Dyess AFB FamCamp: Low rating given because of the relatively high daily price of $35, almost double that of most military fam camps with similar services. Park is clean, sites are level, and everything functions well. Two minor complaints: we reserved on-line but our assigned site didn't show it being reserved; we were lucky that a late arrival hadn't shown up before us and taken it. Also no wifi password given when reserving, and no password was listed on the info board.

For Dyess AFB FamCamp: The campground was well laid out with full hookups, but don't expect anything more than a parking lot! The sites are paved and level. The bathrooms were clean but there were only two stalls and two tiny showers with NO SOAP DISHES!! This organization obviously caters to full-time, permanent-duty personnel as an alternate housing option as all but one site was available for recreational RVs on travel. Compared to other FamCamps we have stayed at, the overnight cost of $35 is much too high for what you get. The staff was nice and took our reservation over the phone which we appreciated. The internet worked well. We appreciated that the BX and commissary were close. BX prices seemed high--it's not what it used to be, and there was no diesel fuel available if your RV requires it. Would be nice to have a fenced dog area, at least.
