For Lake Tom Bailey Campground: We had really high hopes for this campground for an overnight on our way through. According to previous review this is a nice state park and it is not any of that. It's not a state park and it's not nice. It is full of mud and we almost got our motorhome stuck. Most of the sites are on really soft grass and the few that were not grass were a mess of HUGE tree root systems that you had to park over. Not only that, but the sites were full of broken down trailers that were filthy and full of holes and tons of dogs. There was one decent looking RV there, but it, along with it's toad, was taking up two of the dirt campsites and she looked at us out her door and didn't seem to think it would be nice to move so we could maybe have one of the spots. So, we had to unload our toad and back out of the campground because we would have sank in the mud if we had continued along the circular lane that disappeared and turned into grass. The listing says 40' max length, which we are, but I would say this isn't at all for class A motorhomes. Trailers should be fine if you want to navigate all those roots.

For Lake Tom Bailey Campground: This is a really nice state park. We accidently stumbled into it and stayed an extra day it was so quiet. Did not need to use their restrooms as we are self contained so I can't comment on those. Electric and water hookups, convenient dump station. Nice state park employees checked to make sure we were okay and happy. It costs $13 a day for handicapped or over 65!!!! We were here October 16-17, 2017 and there was 1 other camper. The ranger said they have more campers during the summer. The shallow lake is apparently a popular local fishing spot, and holds the state record for the largest channel catfish caught at 51 plus pounds. Lots of birds also. A true hidden gem.

For Lake Tom Bailey Campground: Lake Tom Bailey State Park MS was easy to get to off I-20 and a nice stop for an evening. We were one of three campers at the park on Nov 4, 2016. 20 and 30 amp. We parked under the trees at site 3 which was mostly a grass pad, but level. Lake was pretty and several boats out on it trolling and fishing. Fee was honor system and at $18 was a great value. Verizon 4G LTE at 4 bars. Camp could be 5 star for me if bathrooms were better maintained. Still, compared with the KOA on the other side of I-20 in Toomsuba MS the SP is a great alternative if looking for a more relaxed setting for a day or more.
