For Sunset Bay Campground: Tent sites are right on Lake Superior. Some sites are small but the views are spectacular so it wasn’t an issue. Lots of RV spots with Lake Superior views. The shower had great hot water. Laundry facilities and able to buy wood and ice at reasonable prices on site. There is internet if needed although the signal strength varies depending on location. And great sunsets!

For Sunset Bay Campground: Sunset Bay Campground is ideally situated on Lake Superior midway up the Keweenaw. The campground is down a long fairly well-maintained road. It’s location is perfect for exploring Copper Country.
We camped there in our 30-foot Airstream and had 30 AMP service and water. While there was no sewer hookup, they would bring a tank around to collect waste.
The sites are dirt/grass/gravel and pretty level. We did not take advantage of the showers or laundry and so cannot speak to them. There was no internet at our site but I understand there was near the office. But who wants internet when you have a stunning view of Lake Superior? The beach is lined with smooth stones and it is ideal for swimming.
We made our reservations via phone and talked to the owner Bill. He was very helpful in helping us pick out our site. We were not able to talk to him while visiting but he sure was a nice guy on the phone and regulars to the campground love him.
The campground was quite and well-maintained. One side of the campground is tree-covered and the road winding around to the sites might be hard for big rigs to navigate. We were in a more open area with a few trees and didn’t have any trouble facing into our site.
We would definitely stay here again!
