The Novel RV
For Stockton City Park: EXPENSIVE BOONDOCKING. Do not stay here if you want hook ups! This is a lovely park with 7 sites and it’s nice and quiet, which is why I gave it 2 stars. I stayed here 2 nights. The first night I tried to heat left overs and although my microwave turned and the light came on, it would not heat. I ending up using my generator to cook my food. In the morning I tried to heat water for my shower using the electricity. It caused my surge protector to kick in. I had to use propane to heat my water. Had I not already paid for 2 nights ($20/night) I would have left. The night before I left, I tried to fill my water tank. The faucet did not work. Not a drop. By now I was disgusted. The dump station seemed to work because throughout my stay I saw people pulling in and using it, but I decided not to chance it. Maybe I was jinxed. I’ve stayed at a whole lot of FREE campgrounds with way better workable services. I didn’t mind paying $20/night. I minded getting nothing but a parking space for my money. There is even a sign at the entrance saying if you do not use services, it’s still $20/night.

For Stockton City Park: As good as it gets, in my opinion, unless one is in that group that will always find fault. Easy to find right along side U.S. 24 3 blocks west of U.S. 183. All 30 amp with several also having 50 amp option. No sewer hook up but does have a convenient dump station easily accessable for RV or Blue Boy. Road and sites are gravel, level and no obstructions to parking your rig and pull throughs are long enough for most, maybe all rigs. Plenty of room for slide outs. Very easy in and out. All sites $13 per night in Sept 2016, pay at lockbox at kiosk or Someplace in town, Mayor's Office I think. 7 day max with possible ext with Mayor's permission. Reservations permitted at 785-425-6220. We camped in a travel trailer.

For Stockton City Park: Great park for the price! The correct directions: from the intersection of 24 and 183 go West on 24 about half a mile. Ignore the city park sign. Wait for the sign w the RV on it and make the next left. If you put Stockton City Park in your google maps it will take you to the correct location. The closest address I found is 100 Main St.
