For Sunset Park Campground: Ok, the last review from 2019 is still spot on. Yes it is full service hook up, but that is it. No wifi, no cell service, unless you have Verizon and even that is sketchy. The place is in shambles with rotting structures everywhere. The ‘bathhouse’ isn’t, both men and women doors have padlocks on them and looks like something out of Wrong Turn, the movie. I arrived very late and a couple of young men approached as I drove up. They were nice, but were instructed by someone on the phone they had that it was $35/night and guess what, cash only as far as I could tell. I parked where they directed me and just got some sleep after a long drive. The place is TOTALLY not worth $35/night for sure. Don’t bother staying here unless you are completely self contained and want completely off the grid. I had to drive 5 minutes up the road to even get enough cell service to start my GPS when I left. Yes there is a wooden bridge and I also prayed driving over it, twice! yes there is a cemetery, I spoke with one of the residents and apparently it is a family property. The ‘bar’ mentioned in the last review is actually a flower shop. Absolutely no renovations look like in the future.

For Sunset Park Campground: We arrived at Sunset Park Nov. 29th, we had a 4 day reservation. Upon our arrival there was NO directions, where the office was, where to check in or ANY type of information. There is an empty building on the left which is in major disrepair. Also a very large RV which essentially rotted in the place it sits, both of these nearly obscured our vision of the headstones (is this also a cemetery?). We parked our RV and walked the entire park, noting every camper, RV, dilapidated mobile home and even a structure that appeared to be a makeshift bar (very scary looking). There was even a tent camper who like the others, looked as though it had been there quite some time. We were very obviously inspecting each empty site, we couldn't determine if the was actually a working water source, electric and sewer hookup. We were told it was full service. My husband did go into the 'bath house', there were no lights and the odor of ammonia/urine was breath taking. But I was still trying to be positive, we only had to stay 4 nights and it was very close to where we were visiting. We continued to nose around for about 30 min and was approached by anyone, but there were 2 dogs running loose, they were happy to get the donuts my husband fed them. After we had enough of this place we left. But not without crossing over a wooden bridge, not once but twice! once to get to a spot to turn around and then once to get out. I must say, my only thought (as I held my breath and prayed) was please let us get out of here before the bridge gives way! (does RV insurance payoff if the bridge collapsed?) Well, we did manage to get away without dueling banjo playing or an invasion of the Zombies. Must have been our lucky day. I only gave a one star because this would not post without a star rating.
