For West Pinewood - MacKerricher State Park: Stayed 3/12/22 overnight. We were headed further North to Westport/Union Landing for the night, but hit bad weather and high winds. Since Westport is a completely exposed headland we ducked into MacKerricher to see if they had a spot. Luckily they had one left, so we grabbed it. No hookups, $40 a night. Very nice, friendly staff. Spaces were wide, room for our TT and our truck side by side with the awning fully extended. Would not recommend big rigs as turns on the loop are a bit tight and our 22’ overall TT was all the way back and only 8’ to the loop road. Decent spacing to neighbors, good fire pit and table. Wood purchased onsite for $10 a bundle was unseasoned, made for a challenge to get the fire going. Short walk to a lovely beach, lots of interesting rock formations and wildlife. Decent AT&T coverage. Didn’t use showers or restrooms, so no comment. It looks like they have been thinning the trees a bit, so we were glad for good solar panel exposure once the sun came out. Very quiet, would stay again.

For West Pinewood - MacKerricher State Park: We stayed for 3 nights in early March, 2020 in a 28' long travel trailer. No hook-ups available, but we were able to locate a very spacious site. Most of the sites are well spaced. The campground was not very crowded at all. Nice location not far north of Fort Bragg. Would definitely come back.

For West Pinewood - MacKerricher State Park: We've stayed here a few times, lately during autumn, so it's not too crowded. Some of the sites are very close together, and others are very spacious, if you're lucky enough to be there during the off season. The bathrooms are well stocked, recently upgraded, and clean. Showers are 5 minutes for a dollar, so bring quarters. We had a couple bars Verizon, so were happy with that! The best thing about this park is that you can walk into Fort Bragg along the Haul Road. We had a blast in town, with North Coast Brewery and Round Man's smoked meats, just a couple of the delights. We'll stay here again.
