For West - Indian Lake State Park: Nice place to stop; quiet and relaxing. We would return. Be sure to get a Reservation Passport for the state parks in MI too.

For West - Indian Lake State Park: Great State Park. Electric only at sites. Restrooms and showers clean. Quiet. Nice sandy shallow beach. Dump station, fire wood to purchase. Busy. We are at the South area. Will come again.

For West - Indian Lake State Park: We were looking for a quiet place to avoid the weekend crowds yet still be within 2 hours of the Mackinaw Bridge area. We're self contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed here on a Friday night in July.

This is a nice hideaway with 72 walk-up (non-reservable) sites. Registration is self-service and cash or check only, or you can register and pay with a credit card at the main/South Indian Lake SP campground 2 miles away. The sites are 20 amp electric only. Although the sites are relatively close together, the 'pod' shaped areas make the sites feel much bigger. There are no dump station nor trash/recycling, however, these can be used at the main campground at no additional charge. Showers are available at the main campground for $2. There is no wifi. Verizon cell coverage was just strong enough to use a hot spot. ATT was adequate. Despite being a weekend in the busy season, the campground was about half full.

There's a small beach on Indian Lake about a mile away. The Kitch-iti-Kipi Spring (The Big Spring) at Palm Book SP is about 4 miles away.
