For Lake Superior Cart-in - Tettegouche State Park: This is one of our favorite Minnesota state parks as we have camped there several times. Located along the scenic north shore of Lake Superior the drive to this park is worth the trip. The campground is located up the hill and away from Lake Superior but is also away from the highway. The sites are all wooded, private and nicely spaced out but be aware it may be a challenge for those with longer campers to level their rigs. Do research before making reservations as some sites are pretty steep to back into. There are many trails for hiking, the bridge above the falls is a must see. Other trails lead to small upper lakes. The newly built visitor center along the highway is one of the best in the state. Located at the edge of the cliff overlooking Lake Superior, the view is unbeatable. Be sure to hike out to Shovel Point behind the visitor center which will take you down to the water. There are many steps to navigate but the views are worth it. Make sure to closely watch your small kids as you will be hiking along the edge of a cliff. A solid 5 stars for this park!
