Stayed two nights 8/2-8/3/22 after picking up our new 17’ Casita Spirit Deluxe. We loved this park despite the 103 degree afternoon heat. Absolutely wonderful getaway. We were one of three campers in the whole park! If you like piece and quiet in a remote place without Boone docking, this is the place!

This state park is definitely off the beaten path but it is well worth the drive! It is a lovely wooded forest with great winding roads throughout the park. The sites are concrete and mostly level. It feels almost primitive with amenities! Good Verizon and ATT service and able to pick up some local TV. The brush offers some privacy between sites. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Will definitely stop in again!

Stayed here for 2 nights in 02/2018. The sites were paved, level, and nicely tucked away to themselves in the trees. The playground was excellent, and the showers were clean and functional if a little dated.
Cell service was a bit problematic.
Verizon: 1 bar, 3Mbps down
AT&T: 4 bars, but couldn't get a data connection. This may have been a temporary problem with the tower

This park is so clean and peaceful. The staff could not be nicer. A State Policeman pulled us over to let us know we left an item behind at the campsite. He was really nice and gave us recommendations on other state parks we might like. Wow! That was the best traffic stop I've ever had. Even though we drive past 5 other state parks, this is our favorite. You won't be sorry if you stop.
