For Vogel Canyon: These are off roads National Grassland areas. At this location there are no real amenities and it is not maintained except there is a vault toilet, and trash cans for the picnic area. The 2 picnic tables are sheltered, but the sun is only blocked when it is directly overhead. Do not plan on taking large rigs and it is basically pulling off to the side of a dirt loop which is not a lot of room. Clearly there is no intention to keep it clear as the wildflowers have gone crazy and it is hard to find the path. The point is if you enjoy this lifestyle then it is better than pulling off road but not really much. I recommend just finding a spot along the many dirt roads shown on maps, but you can only camp in a previous spot and are not allowed to make a new one. I found it sort of limiting as in South Dakota we were only restricted to being no more than 30 feet from the center of the road.
