For Schodack Island State Park: We were looking for a campground in the general area that would be open in early May to break up a long drive. We're self contained and don't use the facilities except for occasional showers. We stayed here on a weeknight in early May. This is our 4th stay at this CG. Pleasant CG. Everything works. More details (unchanged) in our 11/1/16 review.

For Schodack Island State Park: I was almost not going to write a review cause the other pretty much say what I was going to write. But, then I saw their reviews were older and thought writing a more recent one would help others! So, still great! So much to do. Just beautiful and so relaxing with the water and big trees. Loved our pull thru site. One of the largest we have ever had as far as length and width!! Enjoy your time! For the rate and location...can’t beat it! We stayed at #6 and could park and reach a hose to fill our tank. No water or sewer...FYI!

For Schodack Island State Park: Well maintained, each site is level and water was easy to access. Good electric connection. The dump station was well maintained. The bath house was clean and very nice. Staff were all friendly. The trails are groomed, easy walk for two small dogs on the ones we took. Stayed Sun-Tue, 20' ft, June. The cotton woods were a mess, the entire place was covered in white fuzz, but still very enjoyable! Will return.

For Schodack Island State Park: Please look at the other reviews what they say looks pretty up to date. The site we had was a very long pull through site. The sites were separated enough to give you some privacy. The area we were in also had a view of the southern sky so we were able to get some dish satellites. The bathrooms were as nice as any campground that I have visited. The campground was not busy in the middle of the week so My neighbor and I were able to hook up to frost proof water. But on weekends I have a feeling that others might have to use the same water. The end of the park has a boat launching area.

For Schodack Island State Park: Nice park, looks like some good "park" experiences available. (We stayed only for a night in the RV.) Another state/city park with electric-only and central dump. Appears well-kept (didn't use any facilities, so don't know anything about them). Disappointed with fees in NYS state parks: Cheap basic fee, but the add-ons bring it to comparable with full-service private parks.

For Schodack Island State Park: We were looking for a campground in the general area that would be open in late October to break up a long drive. We're self contained and don't use the facilities except for occasional showers. We stayed here on a weeknight in late October.
This is a very nice campground. The perimeter sites are relatively large, level, shaded and private while the center sites are pull throughs. Options are for primitive sites or electric only, there's water and a dump station nearby. The push button showers were clean with hot water. There's no wifi. Verizon and ATT coverage was usable. The staff was friendly and helpful.
There are hiking trails throughout the park and a boat launch/picnic area with a beautiful view of the Hudson River. There's a music jam on Friday nights during the summer.

For Schodack Island State Park: Very nice, new campground. Bathrooms are brand new. The front desk clerk was friendly and helpful as was the maintenance people. I can't say enough about this group! My only suggestion to them was to pave or stone the RV platforms. They were sandy and messy. We enjoyed the Friday night concert and firemans dinner! Great spot!
