For Sand Hollow Recreation Area: Great place, and practically new; very clean. For small RVs only, like vans: no hookups. I’m 21’ and barely fit, at an angle in a 2 car spot. $15 night; says cash only.. Lots of restrooms and a beautiful place to walk around with the sand cliffs and Columbia River waterfront. Walk in tent sites are on closer to river! There’s a day use area too. Osprey fly overhead catching the wind: magnificent! Please don’t follow the directions provided by Apple Maps; it took me way out of the way and never reached the park. Get off I90 at Hwy 26 S, and when it meets 243, go right-South, and look for sign on your Right. The 243 highway is above the park and there is some truck noise, but it’s also very windy here in general, which might drown out vehicular noise. If you’re traveling West from Missoula Montana, it’s about a 6 hr drive with all the gas stops. There’s a State Park across the river South of I90, which has reservations and hookups, and more fees.

For Sand Hollow Recreation Area: Wonderful gem! As mentioned previously, quite new looking, clean, with nicely designed sites. Total of 30 sites for RV / tents. However, all sites are rather short, 25’ to 30’ max length, most being of the shorter length. If your rig fits, and you don’t mind dry camping (no hookups, no dump), then this is a great deal at only $15/night. We had a nice view of the river from site 30.

For Sand Hollow Recreation Area: We had to stop here b/c the winds here are EXTREME!!! But boy were we glad to get off the road and park it at this newish, clean, well thought out campground! AHMAZING sunset (here mid June 2019) and although intensely windy, also warm (ish) and invigorating! We were VERY thankful for this campground, and all the beautiful volcanic mountains surrounding the campground also added to a lovely, quiet (only 1 other camper other than us!) experience for us at San Hollow!
