For KOA Journey Dodge City: We stay at KOAs when convenient (prefer more outdoorsy feel than they usually offer). This one was a huge disappointment. When we arrived midday, no one was on the premises. We had to call the emergency number. After waiting 15 minutes, someone showed up with no apology or customer service skills whatsoever. Our pull-thru site was fine, except for a “new” KOA, the picnic tables and fire/bbq pits were horrible... worn out and overgrown. No shade at all. One of the bathrooms closer to the sites was closed with no explanation. Overall, I can’t recommend although I’m not sure what else is in the area.

For KOA Journey Dodge City: This was a great first camping experience. Reservations were easy to make online. The check-in process was very simple and quick. Our only complaint was on the night of the 4th of July. Many fellow campers disregarded the no firework rule or respected the quiet hours. Fireworks in the campground went until close to midnight, long after the city display had concluded. Our dogs were pretty scared with the close proximity of the explosives. Many locals came with camping chairs and coolers and parked in empty lots with their cars. There were no KOA staff to enforce the expectation of no visitors and no fire works. The rest of the 3 days here were very pleasant. We would definitely come back.

For KOA Journey Dodge City: Newer RV KOA park situated close to town and the large city park and water park. Sites are clean, roomy and spacious with convenient hook-ups. Only complaint is the orientation of the sites. The afternoon and evening sun is on the RV patio side. We stayed 2 nights in a 40’ class A.

For KOA Journey Dodge City: Checked in with 30 foot Fifth wheel. Full hookup 50 amp service. $45.00. Level concrete pads. Well kept areas. Would highly recommend.

For KOA Journey Dodge City: This is a brand new park right in the heart of Fort Dodge next to the city park, city zoo, and water park. The roads are nice and wide and easy to maneuver for a big rig. The pull thru's and concrete back in pads are extra wide so there is no mud or dirt at the end of your steps. My concrete site was perfectly level front to back but slightly sloped side to side; 1 "logo" block easily leveled the RV. The hook-ups are in the proper place with good electricity, water pressure 30-40 psi, good sewer connection, great cable selection, and excellent wifi connection. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Many trees have been planted and will take some time to grow and provide shade. There is a tornado shelter that is easily accessible and a nearby tornado siren. This was important to me since severe storms were in the area when we stayed there. The GPS will guide you down 4th Ave and through the parking lot of the city park which could be tight to impossible for some big rigs. An alternative route is to turn south off of Wyatt Earp Blvd onto 14th Ave and then turn east on Park Street. Weakness of this park include they do not take Good Sams or other discounts and it can be difficult to maneuver to off of 4th Ave. This is not a RV resort but a very nice new RV park (Resort means to me perks like pools, gym, adult activities like tennis, etc.). I highly recommend this new park. We camped at Fort Dodge RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
