For Lake Vermilion-Soudan Underground Mine State Park: Yes, the sites are beautiful and well-spaced as others have noted. But there were two major flaws for us. First of all, the only place to dump trash is in the dump station area. This is quite a hike from many of the campsites. We like to dump our garbage each night which required a drive to the dump station. There were also no trash receptacles at the day use area -a beautiful picnic area, boat dock, and fishing pier. We were also very disappointed in the lack of walking/hiking trails. There were a couple on the map but totally unmarked. We did find one, but had to turn back when it seemed to end with no signs at all. On the plus side, the Underground Mine tour in Soudan was wonderful.

For Lake Vermilion-Soudan Underground Mine State Park: There are 30+ sites each nicely separate from its neighbors. Ours was spot-on level and good and wide/deep. Beautiful trees. The bathrooms must have been very recently built. The one I saw was cleaner and nicer than any I've seen anywhere!?

For Lake Vermilion-Soudan Underground Mine State Park: There are now somewhere around 100 sites for RV’s and tents. Most of the camping sites look like they were built in the last year or so. It appears all sites are isolated from neighboring sites by at least 100 ft so you have a sense of privacy. There must have been some violent storms recently as there’s some blowdown trees that have opened up some of the privacy barriers, but not so you feel your neighbor is in your site. Very nice campground.
