For Gilchrist Blue Springs State Park: Park has a beautiful spring and a lot of potential. As others have mentioned it needs a lot of work. Staff is awesome. The place needs to be closed until it can be upgraded to the same standard as other FL state parks. Sites aren’t level, roads are awful, electrical posts don’t have breakers, and other issues.

For Gilchrist Blue Springs State Park: My wife and au have traveled every state and province in North America. ( His Road Trip dot com ) Plus mist Florida State Parks. This park is a mud pit. Road to the park is a disaster... watch for deep pot holes! Site 5 was a 35 foot site... which would have been find except fir trying to back in between large 2 trees with NO turn radius. There was no way to back our trailer in !
This park needs upgrading bad! We left after 3 Attempts to back in.The personnel and staff were great. The state needs to give them something to work with.
Oh, when it pours the roads are a stream of mud.

For Gilchrist Blue Springs State Park: Ranger stated they had two pull thru’s...upon arrival he said well they are not actually pull thru’s? WTH. Dirt road in approximately 1.5 miles not taken care of extremely rough (same crappy road out.btw). By far the worst park we’ve been to in Florida. Not even close to big rig friendly. Roadway to actual campsite was washed out and impassable. If you have a class a stay away, probably ok for trailers. We lost 3 hours coming here which could have been avoided if ranger would have advised of conditions at park (he was aware of our rig size 35’ with toad btw). Don’t waste you’re time this place needs help. If I could give less stars I would...we reside in Florida btw and love the state parks
