Getting there
Ignore your GPS and maps on this one. Some routes are risky and may require high-clearance or 4WD. The best way in is from the north, via US 550 (formerly NM 44) and County Road (CR) 7900, and 15 mi on CR 7950. Signage warns that road in can impassable and it all depends on recent weather and conditions. Always plan your time for going very slow whichever way you drive in.
