Getting there
From John Day drive east on US Highway 26 for approximately 15 miles to Austin Junction. Drive north on US Highway 7 for one mile to County Road 20. Drive west on County Road 20 for approximately 14 miles to Forest Service Road 45. Drive north on Forest Service Road 45 approximately 8 miles to Forest Service Road 4500-537. Drive east on Forest Service Road 4500-537 toward Indian Rock Lookout. This road will disect Head O Boulder Forest Camp. This area is only maintained during hunting season Oct-Nov.
