Once in San Houston National Forest on the west side of Lake Conroe take 1375 to 204 South, then left on to 248. 248 is a gravel road that seems to end at an open gate with a large turnout to the right. People with large rigs should park at the turnout and hike in 1 mile to make sure their rig will make it the last mile. The road gets rougher and there are dips and tight turns and many low branches.
