The Walnut Street Inn was built as a three story Victorian house was built by Charles McMann in the mid-1890s. The original oak floors that once had McMann's guests dancing are still in excellent condition. The leaded glass windows and four original light fixtures are still kept polished and pristine by the current innkeepers.
The west side carriage entrance once used by the McManns is still in use. In 1992, the carriage house was renovated into four guest rooms.
Many guest of the Rosen Room has reported a ghostly presence. In 1998, a gentleman guest reported that he was stretched out on the bed when he looked up and saw a female sitting at at table against the wall. "Excuse me, this is my room," he said. The apparition turned to him and said, "No, this is my room." He shook himself, thinking he may be sleep. The ghost then just disappeared.
The staff has since investigated and learned that she may have been in her 70s when she passed away and has stayed on to watch over the house. So feel safe and secure when booking the Rosen Room at the Walnut Street Inn. You'll be watched over while you sleep...
